Culture
The natural natural natural environment has been a major component influencing the Asmat, as their heritage and way of life are heavily dependent on the rich natural assets discovered in their forests, rivers, and seas. The Asmat mostly subsist on starch from the sago palm (Metroxylon sagu), fish, plantation game, and other pieces accumulated from their timber plantations and waters. components for canoes, houses, and woodcarvings are also all gathered locally, and thus their heritage and biodiversity are intertwined. Due to the daily flooding which happens in numerous components of their land, Asmat houses have normally been constructed two or more meters above the ground, increased on timber mails. In some inland regions, the Asmat have dwelled in tree houses, occasionally as high as 25 meters from the ground. The Asmat have traditionally put large emphasis on the veneration of ancestors, especially those who were carried out warriors. Asmat art, most noticeably complicated, stylized timber carving, is designed to honour ancestors. numerous Asmat artifacts have been assembled by the world's museums, amidst the most notable of which are those discovered in the Michael C.
